Beach Road |
Located between two of Queensland's
tourist attractions, Noosa and the World Heritage-listed Fraser
Island. The 40 Mile Beach Road is a designated government
road which is actually part of the beach, stretching north
of Noosa Heads to Rainbow Beach (where the ferry departs for
Fraser Island).
* It is a gazetted road, but is rarely marked on maps

Highway was largely a Western Australian highway, however
the creation of the Ord River dam (Lake Argyle) in the 1970s
necessitated the realignment of Duncan Highway into the
western extremity of Northern Territory.

the Queensland Department of Main Roads (QMR) that once Developmental
Roads are constructed to highway standard that they are upgraded
